The Big Apple

Thanks Nathan and Kellie for having us visit for a week in your beautiful city - New York.
We had a great time, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, visiting Kellie's law school,
touring the 9/11 Memorial, strolling through Time Square, who can forget The Magnolia Bakery, famous for delicious cupcakes, seeing the new Freedom Tower going up at Ground Zero, and Central Park with the Manhattan skyline in the background...Washington Square and the
Italian shops in Arthur Avenue not to mention 30 Rockefeller Center, the Manhattan LDS Temple and the great food...gazing out towards the Statue of Liberty. You were
the perfect hosts for your great city!

Under African Skies

No, it wasn't a dream....we really did go on a safari to Africa. To say the least it
was amazing and unforgettable...there isn't anyplace else on Earth like Kenya. We saw
so many things...The Great Rift Valley, Karen Blixen's farm (she wrote the book
Out of Africa, one of my very favorite books), the Masai Mara game reserve,
Sweetwater game reserve, got to see Mt. Kenya, Amboseli game reserve, Lake
Nakuru bird sanctuary and home of the rare White Rhinoceros. We crossed the
Equator several times, and I finally got to see what the Southern Cross looks
like in the Southern Hemisphere sky. We went to Nairobi and Mombasa and
saw the azure blue and very warm Indian Ocean, saw beautiful birds and got to see the Big Five
animals..visited the chimpanzee sanctuary that Jane Goodall started, we marveled
at the enormous African sky, and got to stay beneath the majestic Mt. Kilamanjaro.
