Peru, South America 2012

Mark and I were able to go to the beautiful country of Peru for two weeks.
We toured The Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu, Cuzco, many beautiful
Incan and Pre-Incan ruins, then onto Lake Titicaca to see the Floating Reed Islands.
The altitude there was 13,000 feet.  Then we headed to the Amazon River to
explore the many sights there.  A wonderful trip indeed and I would recommend
going to this part of the world to anyone!  We saw quite a bit of wildlife, from piranhas
and pink freshwater dolphins in the Amazon, to sloths, monkeys, snakes and tarantulas.
We also  saw magnificent blue butterflies that were as big as sparrows.  And of course,

we saw llamas and alpacas in the mountains. We saw a Ceiba Tree, the picture shows Mark standing at its base...the Peruvians call it the Tree of Life...we called it the Avatar Tree!

Summer 2012

This summer has been fairly eventful.  I've posted a few pictures of what we have been doing since April.  Alex and Erica moved to San Francisco and we miss them terribly but are happy for their success.  We lost our beloved dog Chief after 13 years, and we got another Jack Russell puppy we have named Gunnar.  He is very energetic!  We got a special visit from our dear friends the Stuckis
who now live in Shanghai.  We were able to visit with our two little grandchildren and Mark and Sarah went on a 500 mile bike trek through the State of Washington.  Recently Mark and I traveled to Southern Utah for some 4 wheeling with friends and saw some beautiful sights.  Always we get

great sunsets here on our little farm where life is peaceful and good.
